Bringing in machinery and technical equipment

Tight spaces, narrow access routes, difficult route planning, little room for manoeuvring and correcting - these are the usual challenges of a machine insertion. This mostly final act of a machine transport therefore usually places the highest demands on planning and implementation.

Problems with machine installation

Of course, it is usually the dimensions that cause problems when installing a machine, but not exclusively. Weight or external influences such as temperature and humidity can also have an impact on planning.

If you have really "miscalculated" or there is no other option, then a specialised transport company has to solve these problems. Narrow access routes and gate entrances are usually the first problem. Little space for manoeuvring and for corrections to the planned transport route are the rule here. Precise measurement and planning of the transport route are necessary here. A trained and experienced eye has a clear advantage here.

Bringing in machines - through the roof, through windows, through the cellar,...

Of course, bringing in machinery becomes particularly interesting when you can't just "walk through the front door". Simple aids such as pallet trucks (ants) or forklift trucks are then automatically cancelled and targeted planning is required.

Fortunately, many machines today are designed in such a way that they also fit lengthways through larger window openings. This often allows the use of special telescopic forklift trucks, i.e. forklift trucks with transport forks that can be extended and also moved horizontally. One to two storeys can be easily managed with this technology and medium weights when bringing in the machine.

Insertion through the basement can sometimes be expedient, but the access situations here are rarely suitable for inserting machines, especially in old buildings.

If these options are also unavailable, the only option is often through the roof. A mobile crane or mobile crane is then the tool of choice. However, suitable access situations on the roof are of course required.

"Ingredients" for successful machine insertion

As with all types of specialised transport, one thing is essential when it comes to bringing in machinery - experience. Experience not only ensures that a project can be completed safely and cleanly, it also ensures that it does not take longer than necessary and that it is not more expensive than it needs to be. Under the framework conditions of safety, speed and cost-effectiveness, only years of practice and experience can ensure that individual and optimised solutions can be developed. At the heart of all good solutions is the choice of suitable tools. Where sometimes pure muscle power is sufficient and sensible, in the next case a mobile crane may be absolutely necessary. When used correctly, suitable aids and tools guarantee safety and often also cost-effectiveness. Alternatives and emergency solutions, on the other hand, imply that they are only used in exceptional and well-founded circumstances.
